Camera Edit Training

PR professors are always drilling in the students
head....CONVERGENCE....CONVERGENCE.....CONVERGENCE!!! I am enrolling in a six week course learning camera edit training skills. I feel skills learned in this course will give me an advantage over my competition in my career. I am a public relations major and learning these broadcast skills makes me more marketable to potential employers. When I entered class it was a very relaxed and welcoming environment. I was introduced to new terminology. Things from VO's and SOT's, I was like what in world does this stuff mean? I'm used to promotion, persuasion, intended messages and things of that nature. Rachel and Jon did a good job of explaining and not making me feel not so remedial compared to all the advance broadcast majors in the course. After learning the broadcast "slang", we discussed possible topics and I began to feel more confident about the course. My group decided to do a story on the legendary Soul Train on our campus. Since I know what type of person he is this will be an interesting conversation because the man is pretty snappy!!! Let the fun begin :)
